"Resisting Erasure," what a powerful conversation. I am furious knowing that the government is actually in the process of erasing our history, which is actually their history! I choose to resist by writing my own story for my grandchildren. One of the books that inspires me is called "To My Children's Children," by Sindiwe Magona. She captured me in her preface: "How will you know who you are if I do not or cannot tell you the story of your past?"

By writing my memoir, I can share so much with my grands about their history. In this way, I can connect with them.

And I need to get Rio Cortez's books for my granddaughter now before they try to ban them!
