Who We Are
I’m Quinn Cummings, the creator of Reading To Connect and host of our show (formerly Parenting & Bonding with Children’s Books). For almost 5 years, I’ve worked closely with families to explore the power of shared reading, and I’ve crafted a framework called The ENGAGE Method™. It’s all about using the shared reading experience as a tool for connection—not just to get kids to bed (although, we’ve all been there!).
Here’s a bit about me:
I’m the creator of The ENGAGE Method™, a framework that helps families strengthen bonds through shared reading.
I created a community of over 1,600 parents & children’s book lovers passionate about fostering connections through stories.
I co-administer a group for single moms, with almost 10,000 members, focused on achieving success in all areas of life.
As an ambassador for my local school district, I’m involved in promoting family engagement and literacy. Follow along with my StoryWalk® creation journey!
My work has been featured for raising awareness about the power of reading through social media.
I contributed to Dallas Moms as a guest writer, where I shared a guide on children’s bookstores in the Dallas area.
I served as a parenting expert for The Life of a Single Mom, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, where I wrote a series of articles to help single moms connect with their children through reading.
And then, there’s Aidyn, my 10-year-old son, who is a creative force behind Reading To Connect. He’s into manga these days, loves to draw, competes in chess, and is an active voice in his school community. You’ll be hearing more from Aidyn soon as we explore how books continue to shape who he’s becoming.
